A cute counting book that combine rhyming with creative counting. Each number is made up of a little gray rabbit making something out of clay.

Gray rabbit makes creations out of clay for each 1-10 until the day ends and he is sleepy.

The story is about one gray rabbit who is presented in front of some clay. He then uses his imagination to mold a variety of different animals and shapes. The story is also using a counting theme. For example, "two chattering, clattering toucans or five freckled, speckled frogs!" The illustration of the book shows great detail especially of the gray rabbit, his fur looks real enough to pet. This book would be perfect for younger students from preschool to kindergarten, the time that they are to be learning how to count up to ten. ( )

Grey Rabbit finds some clay, and makes a menagerie of animals, from one to ten. The rabbit is engaging, and the critters are vibrant. After six snakes, they do start to overlap a bit, making counting a little more difficult for preschoolers. ( )

Book description
Gray Rabbit makes a variety of animals out of brightly-colored clay. Counting and alliteration abound. It's also a fun guessing/predicting book, as the right-hand page shows Gray Rabbit working on the next set, and the following left-hand page shows the finished animals. Good book for working on counting, initial sounds in words, and descriptors.
