In this book, a fox loses his tail and has to go on a big journey to get it back. It's a bit long and complicated, so it's better for older kids in elementary school. They might like the story, but it's best for those who can understand the challenges the fox faces.

"One fine day a fox traveled through the great forest. When he reached the other side he was very thirsty." The jaunty red fox stole milk from an old farm woman, lost his tail under the annoyed woman's knife, and spent the day bargaining to get it back. This retelling of a favorite Armenian folktale is a story small children will follow and "read along" with ease.

A long-winded book about what a fox needs to do to get his tail back.

Good story & pictures. I cannot find an exact edition of mine on here, this one is the closest. My copy says published 1971 by Macmillan. ( )
