Work detailsThe Tiny Seed by Eric Carle (1987)
None. This is a great book to use to teach children about the life cycle of a plant. It would be a great addition to a science lesson on plants. ( )This book is great for teaching the methods of planting. The illustrations are watercolors and hazy, but very beautiful. The text is a great compliment to the picture because it explains all the steps during the seasons. This would be great in Science and interactive activities. Children love to learn, this book will help them understand how seeds may travel and grow. This book is also good to be used when teaching sequencing of events. I read this book for a read aloud. It would be good for lessons that have to do with growing/ flowers/ Cylcle of plants, weather for teachers (Sequencing of events) . The kids will like it because you can relate it to them how they are growing right now and so is the plants. This book is about the journey of a tiny seed until it grows into a flower and starts producing seeds. I have been using it to create an integrated unit for Science and Language Arts - first grade. The sentences are long and have lots of information so it has to be taught during at least a week of studies. The pictures are great and the information is accurate.
