This book is to be highly recommended. It should be required text for any scripture course. An excellent easy to read book on God's relationship with his people: a covenant relationship, made over and over again, throughout Salvation History, culminating in the New Covenant, Jesus Christ. Covenant is the link that ties Old and New Testament and is explained in such an easy to understand way.

I am not a scholar and I need help to put the Bible in perspective. Sometimes I get confused with the Bible in the understanding the context and the concept of the parts to the whole ... this is especially true for me in the Old Testament. I need a way to cut through the confusion. Now I can grasp the entire Bible as a Salvation Covenant Plan which Divinely inspires me. Thank you.

Scripture is your guide to what matters most in life. If you regularly read and pray with Scripture, these verses will provide you rich food for thought. No matter what your situation, the Bible will help you evaluate the choices and make the decisions that confront you every day. Either explicitly or implicitly, Scripture addresses all of life's problems, worries, dangers, questions and uncertainties. ( )

I also read the NRSV NJB, & Knox N.T. upon occasion, but tend to stick with the RSV for spiritual reading. This edition has been revised in accordance with the principles of Liturgium Authenticum

Been looking for an Officially Sanctioned Catholic Bible that you can toss into your backpack and bring along wherever you go? This little baby's as good as it can get!

With a leatherlike cover, zipper to keep the pages from being ripped, jostled and folded in your backpack, and a Miraculous Medal for a zipper handle, the physical is as beautiful as the spiritual in this Bible.

The type is a little small, but not uncomfortably so. The language of the Old and New Testament leaps out at you and you can feel God whispering to you as you leaf through the pages of this easy-to-carry yet powerful book.

Get it while you still can. ( )

This is the only major modern translation of the Catholic Bible available in standard English. All other major translations have been revised to conform to feminist demands for "inclusive language" (the same language Rome rejected in the new Catechism). Acclaimed for decades as the clearest, most accurate and most beautiful modern translation of the Bible in English.

A completely new design and typeset edition of the popular Ignatius Revised Standard Version-Catholic Edition Bible, with minor revisions to some of the archaic language used in the first edition. This revised version is a contemporary English translation without dumbing-down the text. This second edition of the RSV doesn't put the biblical text through a filter to make it acceptable to current tastes and prejudices, and it retains the beauty of the RSV language that has made it such a joy to read and reflect on the Word of God. Now the only Catholic Bible in standard English is even more beautiful in word and design! Features: Completely re-designed and newly typeset with 9 point font size. Wider margins and improved line-spacing for comfortable reading. The RSV, second Catholic edition is the only Bible translation that uses standard (non-feminist) English and is in conformity with the Church's translation guidelines found in the Vatican document, Liturgiam Authenticam Nine reference maps in color: 1. The Nations of Genesis Chapter 10 2. The Exodus from Egypt 3. The Conquest of Canaan 4. The Kingdom Years 5. Jerusalem - From David to Christ 6. Palestine in Christ's Time 7.
