... get to it. I do think some of Koontz books are just brilliant and really, really fun to read. I think my favorites are Lightning, Ticktock, and Strangers. I stayed up all night reading Strangers. My Bookmooched copy of Lightning by Dean Koontz came in today. Kind of smelly, but I'm still happy to have it. I haven't read Lightning,
But I have read The Lightning Thief. I haven't read either Sir Gawain and the Green Night or The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe but I have read Lightning I'll have to check out Lightning at some point. From how you've described the book it certainly sounds like something I'll enjoy.
I have another Koontz book, Odd Thomas, in my tbr pile and is on my challenge lists which looks interesting as well. ... I didn't care for his early stuff (The Face of Fear, Whispers, etc.), but really enjoyed Watchers, Strangers, Lightning and others from that era. When he started getting away from horror, I began to lose interest. I didn't care for the first in the Odd series and saw the ending ... I haven't read Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World but I have read Lightening ... Club Series From James Patterson. As for the other two I haven't read much of theirs lately so I would have to recommend Lightning and False Memory By: Dean Koontz (not too much gore there though) and IT By Stephen King ... Cry - the time period seemed to be off. But I saw that a couple of people over on NtB independently thought it might be Lightning, so I've got my fingers crossed for you. This sounds a lot like Lightning by Dean Koontz Ok, I finished Lightning and I think I am going to read a compilation novel I got that includes shattered Whispers and Watchers. I am on a Koontz kick... I wonder why that always seems to happen when I read one book from an author. I finally decided on reading Lightning by Dean Koontz I figured it has been a while since I read an adult fiction book. ... z

Wells - Doomsday Book, Connie Willis and Lightning, Dean Koontz. 181> sandragon, I think you are right. He really loves his goldens. Costco has Lightning on audio and I was thinking about getting it. I may now. Cold Fire is a book I read years ago that stuck in my head. At least I think that is the one. I would also recommend it. But I have to say that I don' ... ... is able to read and spell. I don't enjoy reading Koontz anymore but at one time this was one of my favorite Koontz books (Lightning was my other favorite). ... them out. Kind of makes everything seem dull.
If you want to see some really bad time travel rules, read Lightning by Dean Koontz. Awful rules. For instance, two guys traveled to the future and one (call him Leny) was killed. When the still-alive guy (call him Carl) ... ... and awe-us. I'm not a fanatic, so I didn't enjoy some of his works. My favourites, and I'll try to keep the list small, are Lightning, Watchers, Odd Thomas, Life Expectancy, Intensity, Strangers... and I could go on! ;o)
The 1st book I read, the one who got me hooked, was Mr. Murder ...
