Loading... The Mageborn Traitor (1997)by Melanie Rawn
None. This book drags things out. It has interesting characters and decent plot, not used or told well. It is simply 300 pages longer than it needs to be to tell this story. ( )EXILES Melanie Rawn is an incredible storyteller, with her intriguing characters and exquisite world-building. While the "Mageborn Exiles" series is not as compelling as her "Dragon" series, this is one that fantasy fan should miss. Granted, I didn't like this book as much as the first "Exiles" book, but it's still a worthwhile read. Everything that one loves about Rawn's work is present here. And though it's true that we've all been waiting for a final book that may never come, I don't think anyone should pass on books 1 and 2 because of that. Part 2 of the Exiles series, which makes me wish every time Melanie Rawn would finally get around writing the final part of the trilogy, Captal's tower. I and the other fans have been waiting to continue reading for 12 years now, but for several reasons including her health, Melanie Rawn still hasn't written it yet. Very frustrating because this is such a great series. 5 stars. no reviews | add a review

Now the lines have been clearly drawn, leaving one of Lenfell's most powerful families divided against itself, with Glenin, former First Daughter of Ambrai, plotting the ruin of her sisters, Sarra, Councillor of Sheve, and Cailet, the new Mage Captal, even as the Malerrisi - under Glenin's leadership - once again begin weaving a web with which to entangle their entire world.… (more) |
