The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
My review is here: http://bfishreads.blogspot.com/2009/05/review-luxe-by-anna-godbersen.html I did read The Luxe (all 433 pages of it, in one evening) and liked it a lot better than I thought I would. It gets pitched as "Gossip Girls meets historical fiction," but I found at least some of the characters likable, and I thought the writing was actually decent, so I'll probably continue ... ... to make such a comment. It was a fun light read, but somebody needed to do a bit more fact-checking.
Next up I may read The Luxe, effectively saturating myself in frothy historical teen romance. I have a lot of things that I'd like to reread, too, so we'll see what wins out. Historical fiction: Anna Godbersen, Rumors
This book picks up right where The Luxe left off, continuing to follow the stories of the Holland girls and their acquaintances in New York society. Elizabeth, whom everyone believes to be dead, is living with her beloved Will in California, but is ... Historical fiction: Anna Godbersen, The Luxe

72. The Luxe by Anna Godbersen
A YA book. I liked it a lot and will read the next Luxe novel that comes out. ... underwhelmed by it, but I think most Twilight fans would probably like A Certain Slant of Light by Laura Whitcomb.
The Luxe by Anna Godbersen is essentially Gossip Girls set in the 1899, and was fluffy but fun.
The Mediator books by Meg Cabot are fun paranormal romance.
Sorcer ... JF: The Luxe, which I absolutely loved because it was so well written
CR:The Glass Castle and Dead Connection because it's been nominated for a YA award in my state
LF:The Tea Rose, Twisted, and Crank(which I'm a little unsure about) An Abundance of Katherines - hilarious
The Luxe - catty girly novel set in Victorian New York City
Mango-Shaped Place - I think that was the title
I have a bunch more, but I have to sit and think of the titles... I finished Standard Hero Behavior and (finally!) The Last Town on Earth.
Moving on to The Luxe by Anna Godbersen for some trashy, fluffy fun, and listening to Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. So far, so good on both.
