An excessively timid boy dorothies to an elaborate world where he's told he's a magical unicorn despite a complete inability to demonstrate magical unicornness. ( )The Twelve Kingdoms: Sea of Wind is the second book in the seven book Twelve Kingdoms series. Unlike the first book in the series, which focused on the character of Yoko and her travels thought the countries, this novel is focused on the Taiki, kirin to the future King of Tai. However, much like Yoko from The Twelve Kingdoms: Sea of Shadows, Taiki has grown up in modern day Japan and come to the land of the Twelve Kingdoms not knowing the qualities of a kirin or even the basic customs of this strange new land. This novel focuses on coming of age and finding your place in the world, when you're not even familiar with the world that you're living in. On top of that, you're not even familiar with who you are anymore. An excellent book, it was enjoyable watching not only Taikis' development, but the people he interacts with as well. no reviews | add a review
