Basic Reason for Beginning: Well... Unlike (from what I gather) some people, I quite liked the Disney version of The Rescuers, but the books it was based on were never anywhere to be found. Until a few days ago when I found them on BetterWorldBooks. So I snatched this and The Rescuers up. Read them now because I am/was in need of something light and fluffy.
Basic Reason for Finishing: They're certainly light and fluffy. Just the kind of books I needed to distract myself with today. Also, I quite liked them, dated as they are.
Texture: I know I just said 'light and fluffy', but children's books like this tend to have a wholly different texture that's more dominant. It's a little... stiffer and more stifling than some of the other children's books I'm used to reading.

Book Rereadability: Mm... I can see this making a lovely comfort book for me, actually, but you all know I don't currently Do rereads as I have too many books not read at all as it is.
Author Rereadability: It's a pity Sharp's books are so hard to come by. While these are not necessarily books I'd have wanted to grow up with, they do still have quite a bit of charm about them. See my note on being comfort reading above.
Recommendation: Oooh... Actually, this is a tough, tough call. I think they might be a little too dated to recommend easily, for all that I enjoyed them. If what I've said and say strikes your fancy and you can find them, go for it. ( )
