Funny retelling of five Bible stories (Jacob wrestling, David/Bathsheba, Solomon's wisdom, Uzziah, and Balaam), best read aloud. CAUTION: NOT good for wee ones who don't know the Bible stories yet. I would recommend it for probably fourth grades and up. There are many humorous references that will tickle adults more than kids (just like in the cartoons from the 40's and 50's).
Some may feel the stories are somewhat irreverent, taking the Bible lightly, but personally, I think Mike Thaler's version is respectful of the truths the stories are designed to teach. Incidentally, my best audience for the stories has actually been adults!

These Books Prove that God Created Laughter!

The Heaven and Mirth series teaches biblical values in a fun and entertaining way. No more boring Bible stories! These humorous retellings of actual Bible stories will be meaningful and memorable. Each book focuses on one biblical value and with the help of five unique examples from the Bible, your child will be able to zero in on the importance of that value in his or her own life.

David and Bubblebath Shebahelps your child to understand that he or she can believe in God and His word. Once upon a time there was a very rich man who had many, many sheep. And there was a poor girl named Mary, who had only one little lamb. Its fleece was white as snow, and everywhere that Mary went the lamb was sure to go. Well, anyway, the rich man had important visitors. But instead of butchering one of his many sheep for dinner, he slaughtered Mary's little lamb...
