This book is about some of the US presidents and what traits they had from Washington helping put out a fire to Clinton liking Jelly beans. The book has pictures all of this that made from form random objects. This book would be good in teaching the students about the presidents and kind of humanizing them.

This book is pretty funny, but I think some of it would be funnier to adults than children. A simple children's picture book that brings together some presidential anecdotes will make the reader interested in learning more about the great men. This book humanizes these public figures and makes them relateable for children. The pictures are just as comical as the book is. Such a good read, and a great way to introduce the presidents to kids. ( )

Plot Summary:
A short paragraph explains a story or character trait about the presidents covered in this book. For example, Thomas Jefferson didn't like to dress up and instead met other countries leaders in comfortable clothes. George Bush only danced once in public--at his wedding. Ronald Reagan loved jelly beans, especially the coconut ones. Jimmy Carter helps others by traveling to other countries and meeting with the leaders and by building houses through Habitat for Humanity.

This is a very interesting book because it tells little-known stories about U.S. Presidents with illustrations of each one using objects relating to the story. I have never seen such unique illustrations. It does not discuss every president, but the well known ones. I would read this to a class and have the students make their own story and illustration of themselves using the same strategy. ( )
