I cannot read the Jessop book at night. It is well-written and engrossing, but it makes me so sick, and so angry I can't read it at ... Finished Escape by Carolyn Jessop and am starting 44 Scotland Street by Alexander McCall Smith. I'm ready for some whimsy after being immersed in the radical FLDS sect for the past few days. I need to shake it off. ... great. It says what I would have said, had I reviewed it. (Or wait, did I? Can't remember.)
Anyhow, I am still reading Escape by Carolyn Jessop. It's a bit of a slow go, but then we are also working on some redecorating so I don't get to my reading until rather late. But the culture of the F ... I needed a completely different kind of book after reading The Thirteenth Tale, so I picked up Escape by Carolyn Jessop with Laura Palmer. It's the true story of Carolyn's escape with her eight children from a polygamous marriage in the radical polygamist cult, Fundamentalist Church of Latter-Da ... I agree with you about Escape, which I read last year. The adjustment to non-polygamous life was certainly the best part. I also would have liked to learn more about her youngest boy's medical condition. Have you read a lot about polygamous communities? What other books on the subject would you ... ... 20,823 pages ... the titles you listed, I think Shattered Dreams has, by far, the best writing and most compelling storyline. I felt like Escape was poorly written, and it bugged me how the story jumped around without rhyme or reason. I only made it through 50 pages of Stolen Innocence before I used the Pea ... ... you from the first sentence.
I think the recent books about FLDS Morman sects ruled by Warren Jeffs would fit the bill.

Nice to meet you. I am presently reading Escape by Carolyn Jessop about her experiences growing up in a polygamous family of the FLDS sect. I am thinking of a long novel after that. Count of Monte Cristo? Something else? Who knows? I always seem to pick my books at the last ... I finished Escape by Carolyn Jessop on Friday night. If you are interested in Warren Jeffs rise to power in the FLDS church this book will give you some insights.

Another book where the woman escapes FLDS pologamy. It was very interesting in light of Warren Jeffs compound getting raided earlier this year. It answered questions I had about the religion. A good read. I am reading Escape byCarolyn Jessop and also Icy Sparks by Gwyn Hyman Rubio. ... last fall and came across Shattered Dreams by Irene Spencer. It hasn't gotten as much press as Stolen Innocence or Escape, but I thought the writing was much better and the story had a better flow.
