Are Thomas the Tank Engine too young, if they are, then I just know some train-happy 10 year olds ... I loved Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel polly! There's so many favourites, it's hard to remember them all, A.A. Milne definitely, I loved all the poetry as well as the Pooh stories. I had an single elderly lady friend who lived two doors down from us and I used to go and visit her and ... ... Narnia and some of Beverly Cleary and Judy Blume's books. I'll always remember how Ramona wrote in red all through Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel and then her sister was furious that library let her keep the book.
