Working-class small-town bleakness; the general shittiness of being a young woman, holes to fill metaphorical and literal, etc. My only complaint is that it's so brief & over so soon. You'll read it in a sitting but it's completely worthwhile. Recommended if you like Jean Rhys, Lynda Barry, Joan Didion, Beth Nugent, all those sad-eyed ladies of the lowest lands. An erotic and poignant story of small-town USA. no reviews | add a review
