First words
In an age when so much money and effort is expended on the advertising and selling of chemical fertilizers and of newer pesticides, the survival and growth of the Organic Movement is a remarkable phenomenon.

Foreword.
I have written this book to help those who have health problems to garden their way out of them, for the healthiest of all health foods are those grown without chemicals in your own garden.

Preface.
The gardener's year starts slowly with seed catalogues and planning in January, but all too soon the tide of spring comes racing in over the shallow weeks, sweeping up to midsummer and ebbing slowly away to autumn and winter.

1. The organic gardener's year.
