This was a picture book by Eve Bunting. The book was about a young girls pet turtle, and the turtle is the one that is telling the story. The turtle has big dreams of far away places that Emma, her owner, reads to her. The turtle digs out of the pen and explores the backyard. The turtle thinks it is at far away places like in the books read to her. Then Emma finds her and the turtle realizes it was only in the backyard the entire time.

I really thought the book was sweet and good for young children. The pictures were fun and colorful. The pictures were creative showing the turtles explanation come to life. The book was adventerous and encouraging.

The book had a good idea of showing how the turtle had big dreams and went to explore them. The book showed the creativity of the turtle by the turtle thinking the tree trunk was an elephant foot so the turtle thought it was in Africa for example. The book also showed how the turtle exploring the world around it and the places the turtle dreamed about going to.
