This book has wonderful illustrations and is a good book to teach kids about working together and friendship. The three animals work together to do tasks that they could not do by themselves. An awesome picture book for Kindergarten/ 1st grade. ( )

A little odd, what with the rooster having a perfect rainbow tail, for example. But very simple, with no real conflict or drama. Just oh so sweet. ( )

This story is about a mouse, pig and rooster that are best friends. They do everything together. They go on long bike rides and even set sail on the village pond with a boat they found. They always say friends do things together, but when they are tired and ready to sleep for the night they realize that they all can't sleep in the same spot. The mouse hole is too small, the pig pen is too messy and they can't all perch on the rail in the hen house. But they dream about one another instead so they are always with each other some how.
I liked this book because it shows kids that no matter how people look or how different they are that you can always be friends.
I would have the children pick out what kind of animal they would be friends with and why then tell what they would do together.

This is a picture book about friendship. The three main characters are animals. Charlie is rooster, Percy the Pig, and Johnny the mouse. They set out on their daily bike riding adventuure abd encounter an abandoned boat that proves to be their adventure for today. As they figure out to navigate the boat together the aithor point out some key aspects of friendship. One lesson stated in the book is, "Good friends always decided things together.' This book is simple but would be a good read aloud to build classroom unity and how to work with others. It would be a good addtion to k-2 classrooms and perhaps as part of a counseling center library. The illustration are vibrant and fun. ( )

This book has great illustrations and is a great book to teach kids about teamwork and friendship. The 3 friends do tasks that would not be possible alone.

Charlie Rooster, Johnny Mouse, and Percy the pig are the best of friends. They do everything together. They ride their bike together, play games together, and even do their chores together. Because that's what good friends do. When night falls, though, and it's time to go to bed, they learn that sometimes friends have to be apart. But that's okay, because true friends always find each other, even if it's just in their dreams.
