I only read the sections on Allen Ginsberg and James Merrill. I didn't find anything here worth the effort. The Ginsburg section had a whiff of homophobia, and certainly a lack of understanding of the differences between the historical realities of Whitman's post-Civil War era and Ginsburg's post-WWII time. Someone devoted to lit crit instead of the enjoyment of poetry might find more food for thought ( )
