Loading... The Readers' Advisory Guide to Nonfictionby Neal Wyatt
Seminal ( )(Disclaimer: I am a learning designer, not a librarian) This is a fascinating approach to exploring nonfiction in a readers' advisory context. "Narrative is just fancy word for story, and story is important" in nonfiction. Narrative nonfiction includes books that are generally true, and that score well on characterization, story line, setting, good pacing, and appealing tone. But unlike fiction, authors set out to teach readers and many readers pick up such a book to learn. I found this an interesting perspective and enjoyed the practical application of a readers' advisory service. |
