I really enjoyed Iris and Walter and Cousin Howie. It shared with the reader the joys and pains of friendship. Iris and Walter are best friends; they do everything together. But one day Howie comes to town. Cousin Howie is slightly rude to Iris and Iris doesn't like him one bit! Iris experiences hurt and disappointment, but in the end Iris and Walter come back together and remain best friends. This book is illustrated with pen and ink and I think that the drawings add to the effect of story, ie the colorful emotion shared between Iris and Walter. USE: life lessons ( )
