Farcical but delicious story of the unravelling of the life of a teacher at an independent London school after her entrepreneur boyfriend publishes salacious photographs of her on his website to boost his ailing businesses. Having discovered that the boyfriend has stolen all their savings and completely remortgaged their flat, Emily moves in with a journalist friend whose newspaper colleagues had broken her embarrassing story worldwide. The two old friends have thrived on their differences and their become a web of misunderstandings as they seek to repair their fractured lives. All the characters are treated with sympathy, which makes the book engaging despite its absurdity. ( )
