A nice balance of non fiction articles, some previously unpublished but all new to me as I don't read Marie Claire or the other publications that MK writes for and short stories. I especially liked those re: the foundations she worked with ie to Russia With Love and Concern. I also liked that she didn't feel the need to make everything appear perfect, showed the downsides of a 'famous' life without sounding as if she was whinging too much.

Going to bring tthis to mini meet up on Wednesday. Not sure whether jawin or cackles read chick lit but I am hoping that the book can eventually make its way to wombles who I think will like it and putting it back in Brisbane BC circulation is a good way of doing that. ( )

Marilyn Keyes collects her musings on her own life again as well as some sweet short stories. This makes a nice book to keep when you only have time for a quick spot of reading- many are article length 3 or 4 pages. Keyes has a very humorous and engaging way of speaking about her own life that followers of her fiction will recognize. She manages to tell her own tales of life in a way that makes reality as entertaining as fiction. ( )

I really enjoy Marian Keyes - she never fails to make me laugh. This book of short stories & essays was great as I could have just small doses of funny when I needed it. I can't wait for my next Keyes read. ( )

Was not as captivating as some of her other works. These are mostly short excerpts, stories from previously published work - in magazines, newspapers. Found them mostly uninteresting and somewhat annoying (her significant other/husband is referred to as "Himself"). ( )

As I said before, Marian Keyes is my favourite! These stories are so honest and funny, you can only wish you were her best friend. Love the addition of Mammy Walsh's problem page. ( )
