Skimmed for information for LIS 722 presentation about male readers. Interesting - but all in all not the book I thought it would be. Thanks for all the generalizations, Flesch! ( )

Using phonic-based learning to read techniques; mastering the 44 sounds in English and how they are spelled
  Folkshul | Jan 15, 2011 |
This book strengthens my belief that phonics is important in teaching a child to read. Still though some questions remains, I grew up in the '70s and I remember taking phonics unless the whole word method took longer to take hold in Canada. I know that phonics, from my nephew, is non-existent today. ( )
