Interesting characters, kept me entertained ( )If any of you saw the movie on ABC Family, then you already know what this book is about, because the movie stuck (pleasantly, though unexpectedly) close to the original story. This is your standard modern-single-woman-in-the-big-city-trying-to-find-a-man book, but it's well written and funny in places...I found it eminently worthy beach reading. This is my second book by this author. I found this one disappointing. It was just your standard chick lit, nothing special. Not too much too say about this one. It was a pretty fun read but not that memorable in any way. One aspect that didn't ring true to me was Jane's ease in quitting smoking. One aspect that did ring true was the bad dates. They were in no way over the top, I'm afraid to say. They would have fit right in with my own and my friend's bad dates stories. I liked how Jane got to know The Gnat. I also liked how Jane got promoted by being patient and asking for a promotion but not insisting. I think a lot of business literature would have young women believe that unless you are completely assertive and insistent, you will not succeed in getting the promotion you deserve. I prefer to think that quality work eventually does get recognized for its merit and that, like in this book, promotions can happen as a direct result of that. A typical story line for a "chick lit" book, but I thought it was a solid read. no reviews | add a review

"Did you know that one of your hips is higher than the other?" the seamstress asked me in a totally conversational tone. The bridesmaid to my left eyed me in the mirror, then her gaze dropped to my hips.
"I didn't," I said. "I never knew that. But I'm glad yout old me." The seamstress had the decency to look embarrassed. She ducked her head abck down and continued pinning. Perhaps that had been the reason why Blind Dates One, Two and Three hadn't been interested. it wasn't the smoking, after all. it was my Hip Issue. And just my luck that Blind Date Four was with a doctor, whose business it was to notice such deformaties.
See Jane Date will speak to singles everywhere. At once warm and witty, this look into the life of twenty-eight-year-old assistant editor Jane Gregg, screams, "You are not alone!"
Case in point: See Jane . . .
--Endure two months of bridesmaid hell for her younger cousin's wedding --Brilliantly dodge being fixed up with Grammy's next door neighbor by fibbing that she, um, already has a boyfriend --Date . . . like crazy to find one suitable guy to bring to said wedding
Okay, find one suitable guy to love. Was that so much to ask?
