Unfortunately, his master is killed right after the demon arrives. Fortunately, demon is short for “dimension traveler” and the huge, green, scaly guy with all the sharp teeth is friendly. The entire M.Y.T.H. series, of which this is the first title, showcases Asprin’s Monty Python-esque humor. I mooched this book because I read the book when I was still in high school. Methinks that I should of just let nostalgia lie. The book is way to short, the puns horrible, and the book isn't very humorus. This is a very enjoyable book for those who enjoy stories about friendship, a little magic, and witty references to other great works. This story about a budding magician who really wants to be a thief is a lot of fun and takes you in new directions you never expected. The main character, Skeeve, is someone you begin to care about and drives you forward wondering what will come next. The supporting cast is hilarious and will keep you engaged throughout the book. It is a very short read and is well worth your time if you are looking for something lighthearted and need something to pass the time. no reviews | add a review

Despite the grim sounding synopsis above, Another Fine Myth is a very light-hearted and funny fantasy story that never takes itself too seriously. Filled with narrow escapes, plenty of magic and encounters with strange and interesting characters, Skeeve and Aahz tend to escape using their wits and magic rather than brute force.
I very much enjoyed this first entry to the series. Robert Asprin spins a terrific yarn filled with humor. The universe he has created for this story is interesting. Similar enough to other fantasy stories that it is familiar, but unique enough that you don't feel like you are reading a parody of Tolkien. This is a funny book, but the humor is situational rather than slapstick and obvious. The jokes never seem forced; rather they arise organically from the story.
I very much enjoyed this first MythAdventure and am planning to read the rest of the series. (
