Work detailsStone Cold by David Baldacci
None. Not my favorite 'Stone' novel but it passes the time ok. This is my first book by Baldacci and I found it a bit confusing at first with the flood of names but then I read it out of order in a series. After 1/3 into the book I was pleasantly hooked by the story. My only complaint is that the episodes in the story tend to be a little too pat...too easily accomplished. There are twists in the story to blunt this feeling but I like to feel that I am a part of the character but especially at first it had a Robert Ludlum style of one assassination after the other...whereas I prefer the Fredrick Forsyth approach. Baldacci's style lies somewhere in between the two with a slight lean to Ludlum's style. Quick read, interesting characters, I will read more of his work. Fast moving with short chapters and reads like an action movie. You can almost imagine your favorite movie stars in the main roles. While not great literature, it is enjoyable and a fast read. Lots of killing, no sex, stereotypical characters with convenient plot lines to move the action along.. I can actually neither recommend nor dis the book. But would think it proper for political thrill junkies or teens looking for a "clean" yet fast moving plot. I am a big fan of David Baldacci. He writes with intelligence and wit. His Camel Club series has rapidly become one of my favorite book series. If you like John Grisham, but wish there was more plot and less predictable filler, then Baldacci is a good choice. no reviews | add a review

I don't want to say too much - because nothing should be given away.
I will say that this picks up the story right after The Collectors.
Loose ends are tied up - new ravelings are discovered and teased open to leave gapping holes in the known past.
The Camel Club is important, but they are not the center of the story - instead Oliver and Annabelle are.
Oliver Stone/John Carr is amazing.
All I can say is BRAVO David Baldacci!!!
Read this one for sure - but not before you have read The Camel Club and The Collectors!!! (
