I read The City of Ember a few years ago and really enjoyed it. The People of Sparks wasn't nearly as compelling for me, so I never continued.
Well, I made it through the other three books, but everyone here was right. None of them were as good as the The City of Ember . In fact, all the story lines seemed very similar. It was like same thing kept happening over again in all the books. The last two (The Prophet of Yonwood and The D ...

So far this month I've read The Graveyard Book, which I enjoyed, and The Prophet of Yonwood (the third book in the City of Ember series), which I thought was terrible.

I loved both The City of Ember and The People of Sparks, but hated The Prophet of Yonwood. The main character was way too annoying, and all the random elements in the story didn't come together at the end, they just became even more random.
i really enjoyed City of Ember , the book, so i was a little afraid to watch the movie last night. but i actually enjoyed it a lot. there were a few things i thought it was pointless to have changed from the book, but it was a really good companion to the book.

I finished The City of Ember last night. Am tossing up whether or not I should read The People of Sparks next or finish Love, Stargirl which I am currently a third of the way through.
Zoe, do you plan on watching the film for City of Ember now that you've read the book? I'm trying to decide which one to go for first...
