Fun and fast-paced comfort read, and a good one to have if the other books you're reading are super-serious. The characters are great, and it's cute that Hermux's pet ladybug Terfle has blossomed into an artist whose talent comes in handy more than once. ( ) In his latest book about watchmaker and mouse Hermux Tantamoq, Hoeye introduces another mystery for our intrepid hero and his equally fearless ladylove to solve. Frantic trying to please his fiancee as they plan their wedding, Hermux once again gets drawn into a mystery that needs solving; this time involving the most wonderful roses ever and an evil woman bent on destroying her rival perfume maker. The stories themselves seem almost plain, but it is the deft characterizations of the people or rather animals, along with the attention to little details (like the types of donuts Hermux dines on) that make these stories so enjoyable. Hoeye draws the reader into his world and makes you sad to leave it at story’s end. Hermux is a delightful character and the supporting cast are also very three dimensional. As with all the others, I loved this sweet, enjoyable read. no reviews | add a review
