I've gotten in a bit over my head this week -- I'm in the middle of Sue Miller's The Senator's Wife, Barry Smith's Only Milo, Suzanne Supplee's Artichoke's Heart and Jill Pitkeathley's Cassandra And Jane! One book is for review, and the others I keep grabbing whenever the mood strikes me. I ...

... on non-fiction, but I'm getting into contemporary memoirs lately. After I finish up that one, it's back to Sue Miller's The Senator's Wife -- I'm about 50 pages in and intrigued, but not totally captivated just yet.

... the same, but I think I'll enjoy it again. >124 - Diana - I can't believe it!! That incident struck me as very odd in The Senator's Wife. I'm surprised that it showed up in another book as well. Some scenes deserve to be revisited - that wasn't one of them!

> 95. Just read your review on The Senator's Wife and your reaction to an incident at the end of the book - i think it is the same incident that made me think about the book yesterday - because the same thing happens at the beginning of Off Season a fairly recent book by Anne Rivers Siddons ...

Book #73 - The Senator's Wife - Sue Miller - Finished August 14, 2009 I picked up this book expecting a light read, but I found a bit more. Miller tells the stories of Meri, a mid-30's wife of a professor, and Delia, the wife of a former senator in her 70's. They live in the two sides an ...

... selling their arc.. I am completely crazy, because I considered buying it. From whence comes this obsession? lol As for The Senator's Wife, shredding did come to mind, but I will take it to work and give it to someone. It will make the rounds from there, and I will never see it again :)

... to obtain it through my library, but with your strong statements, I'm tempted to buy it! And, I agree with you regarding The Senator's Wife. I didn't even give it the 50 page rule...

After a busy non fiction weekend, I picked up The Senator's Wife by Sue Miller . This is a book that I just "had" to have, and I have picked it up...and put it back down before. We shall see if it sticks this time.

I'm still reading two books as well.......The Glass Castle and The Senator's Wife. Now that I am just starting to feel a bit better, I am able to focus better on what I am reading. The Senator's Wife started out boring but it is getting better, in fact, it's good. The Glass Castle has me ...

I started The Senator's Wife and found it boring, so put it down and picked up The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. For some reason I'm into memoirs right now. I'm sick as a dog with this bug that's been going around, so I need something that doesn't require much effort.....my brain feels ...

The Senator's Wife is going on to Continent TBR. Thanks for the review and the recommendation.

101. The Senator's Wife by Sue Miller. With only one exception, I have liked Miller's books. I enjoyed this one, and it was a very quick read. Two women are living on either side of a duplex; one is a newly pregnant newlywed and one is an elderly American Senator's wife who has a long-dist ...

Thanks for recommending the Senator's Wife I'm heading to the library after work to see if they have a copy. Cornwell's early books were good, but somewhere along the way I lost interest and haven't read any of hers in a long time.

I really liked the Senator's Wife and The Front is Patricia Cornwell's newest book and I have to say it isn't one of her best

Hi How did you like the book The Senator's Wife? And, is The Front a newer book by Patricia Cornwell?
