Although strangely on your library Places in Between by Rory Stewart is the first book in the list when sorted by author and then it looks as if the rest are in their proper alpha order. 110. Occupational Hazards by Rory Stewart. A very different book to The Places In Between, about his walk across Afghanistan, but equally gripping and well-written, and just as interesting, if for different reasons. I recommend Rory Stewart's books, particularly The Places Between, about Afghanistan. In The Prince of the Marshes, Stewart describes his time in the British foreign service as part of the occupational government of Iraq.

The March - E.L. Doctorow I'm working on The Places in Between, the non-fiction account of Rory Stewart's walk across Afghanistan just after the fall of the Taliban. It's a really absorbing book with tons of interesting cultural information and a good sense of humor. I think it would make good follow-up reading for ... I'm making my second trip to Afghanistan this year with Rory Stewart in The Places in Between. ... style, but I think The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls is a better memoir dealing with similar themes.

I picked up The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai, The Places in Between by Rory Stewart and, based on the strength of LT recommendations, The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. ...
