Variously wild, strange, obscure. Veers between realist fiction of a psychogeographic persuasion, science fiction noir and a kind of grit moor gothic. Usually unsettling, sometimes chilling. I've reread a number of these stories several times but in some cases I'm yet to understand their essential mystery. (
