Frank and Joe Hardy are called to Millwood, an art community, by their friend Chet's uncle so they can investigate a missing painting. Things get more interesting, though, as more art pieces go missing, opionated history buffs clash and someone lays traps to keep the boys from finding either the paintings or the fabled treasure to which the paintings supposedly lead. I've never read a Hardy Boys mystery [or Nancy Drew] before, but it is about what I expected. It was an easy read, with lots of intrigue and a fair amount of humour. Nothing astounding. I personally like this series for all the action & mystery it has in it. It was so much fun to read & I recommend for all children to read at least one of these books. My age recommendation would be for eight years and up. This was so much fun to read & I was kept on the edge of my seat or in confusion about how they solved it out. Other then that this book was making me wish I was one of them. In the end outcome I was completely amazed and I just couldn't get it through my head. This book was so amazing and I can't wait to read more of this series. ( )
