This is also a book in a series, and the back-fill of details is handled really clumsily - and about 3 times in a 210 page book! This is a big part of why only 3 stars, just how forgetful are we meant to be? How forgetful was the editor ffs?
The story itself is pretty easy to pick up, and bounces along quite happily. I suspect the fact that the bad guys essentially self-destruct is a reaction to the earlier books when they get taken out by the good guys, but even so it works quite nicely in this story.
It's just... it's shallow, fast and undercooked too. I only finished an hour ago and I can't remember the names of most of the characters. The one I can remember: Modred has replaced Mordred in the Arthurian legend. Why? (
