The Twilight series mentions some music (classical and other) and the author has full playlists of inspiration music for each book on her website.

Rice’s books are excellent. While the sex is not pornographically explicit, it is still fairly graphic. Not having read Twilight yet, I can’t compare the two. I would caution the homophobic against them.

... 11-21-08 isn't. That's good for HBP. I think Twilight should come out on 11-17-08 or 11-23-08 (lol). Well, I'll go see Twilight for my b-day cause it now comes out two days before.

... has the right to write the story the way she sees it in her mind-- and she's said all along that even before she finished Twilight she had the end of the book planned out. I am ridiculously, hopelessly addicted to Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. It is a fantastic book to just lose yourself in. I was originally just curious to see what all the teenage girls were going crazy over. I work in a library, I see their anxious little faces when they put the book on the ...

44) Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (oh god oh god I wish I were dead) 45) Watchmen by Alan Moore

... there was a glimmer of interest I'd pick up the novel. Then again there are some movies I don't look forward to, such as Twilight because I'm just too afraid of what they're doing to Stephenie Meyer's books. Just a thought...

... handsome by any means, though. Now, the young man who played Cedric Diggory and who will play Edward in the Twilight movie, Robert Pattinson, is classically handsome. TNP likes the Twilight series even though it's pretty shallow and teenage-y angst-ish.

Twilight movie annoucement: Because the newest Harry Potter movie's release date has been changed to the summer of 2009 instead of November 21st, the Twilight movie will be taking it's release date place instead of it's original release date of December 12th (three weeks sooner than ...

Book #20: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. Loved it! Worth all the hype it's gotten. Book #21: Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales by Jacob Grimm. This was over 600 pages long. Some of the fairy tales are great but some are a half page long and don't make sense. I liked it, but it took me so long ...

42. Twilight - Stephanie Meyer : I read this book, too, just to see what all the fuss was about. I have to admit, I enjoyed it, and will probably read the other three books in the future, haha.

... shop it. The YA tag didn't seem to hurt the sales of Harry Potter or Eragon and it isn't likely to hurt all the new Twilight fans that will seek out that book once the movie hits. Not labeling something as YA to save her tender feelings just isn't worth it. If she didn't like the ...

The Post Birthday World - Lionel Shriver. Fabulous. I'll definitely read more Shriver. Twilight - Stephenie Meyer. I know, I know. I read this so I could share with my 15-year-old cousin. Quelle surprise! I liked it. Of course there were issues...,but its market is teenaged ...

... one of his. I also thought The Lovely Bones was good, right up to the last chapter. Then it got a little weird. Twilight wasn't bad, but I've had no desire to continue the series. What's the Chung Kuo series about? No comment on the others as I haven't read them.

... thing is that her other books are written in a different voice, and much better. * I have collected the first 2 of the Twilight books, but have not read them yet, so i have no opinion on this series yet. I wait for books to go into paper before buying them. I didn't think much of Snow C ...

freelunch - I thought Twilight's better half was its first, so looks like you quit at the right time! I've just started The Hobbit - my very first Tolkien, I am ashamed to say. Oh well, better late than never!

I finished reading Twilight last night, and I am hooked. I can understand what a lot of people find annoying about the book, though. My review is In the Shadow of Mt. TBR I picked up When We Were Romans ...

... See, that's the joy of audio books. I can read while I clean. :-D Except, I have to be careful which books to pick. With Twilight my dishes sat in the sink, in the soapy water, the whole day. I could not put the book down! Though, honestly, I think the last... oh, 40 pages could have ...

Got Twilight today, got to see what the fuss is about!

... an actually appropriate post to this thread... I'm soooo loving Edward! Is it wrong for a thirty-something woman to enjoy Twilight this much?

Quitting Twilight - I'm halfway through and I can't bear to spend another minute with Bella and Edward. I'm sure my daughter will like them. next up: Newton's Wake (chosen for its probable dearth of teens-in-lurve)

I'm giving up on Twilight (read half the book - not my thing - my daughter will probably love it) and starting on Newton's Wake

Nearly a hundred pages into Twilight, and the only complaint I've had so far is that it kind of dragged in the Science class while Edward and Bella were chatting. I'd have to say, for now, I'm hooked. I can relate to Bella, feeling awkward and overlooked in high school myself.

#33 - No hatred in this group. :) Plenty of people around here didn't even like Twilight and we're all still friends! For the sake of discussion, how would you have liked the ending battle to have gone? I know plenty of people were surprised that everyone made it out alive (or rather undead? ...

koolaidmom: best of luck with Twilight. You know how I feel about those :)

... started reading When We Were Romans last night, but I'm also in The Conquest of Gaul ...zzzzz....|-o I'm starting Twilight today, too. Since I have Breaking Dawn and haven't read any of them, maybe I should hopped-to and get 'em read.

... 'Hot Reviews' column and I have no intention of reading the whole series so didn't worry about spoiler alerts. I did read Twilight a while ago to see what all the fuss was about and decided that was enough for me (unless book 2 just happily landed in my lap of course *lol*). I understand ...

Twilight initial impressions: has the feel of a manga (Kare Kano to be precise). I like Bella, Edward is a manga cliche and the cast of school chums are too one-dimensional (after only 100 pages) to judge. I know I'm not the target audience and I'm sure my daughter will love it, but as there ...

... read the book and be done with it. 40: Klarusu, It is a good series, but nothing can fill the gap left by HP. Read Twilight. If you don't like it, don't bother with the rest. I am 100 pages into Breaking Dawn!

... of Innocence, The Double Helix, Bleak House and Midnight's Children on the go at the moment. I didn't even know the Twilight books existed until all the Breaking Dawn posts. I'm really feeling the lack of a good series read since HP bit the dust - do these fill the gap?

Crap! Crap! Crap! I just stabbed my foot with.... something. grrr! Anyway, I caved and picked Twilight up again at midnight. I read 100 pages after I vowed to myself that I would not re read until Dec. I have no resolve. What can you say to a junkie to make them stop?

#37. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer - I finished this one by a combination of reading and listening to it on CD. It was okay - I got pretty tired of Bella swooning over Edward and talking about how "god-like" he was and, well, vampires aren't real. For me, it was just good enough ...

freelunch, I'd like to hear what you think about Twilight. It's all the rage at school & the kids were almost doing backflips when we ordered in a class set for study. But... well, I'll reserve my opinion till you've read it, but I think deense (message 10) may have a point... Still reading Li ...

I went to Waldenbooks to pick up my reserved copy of Breaking Dawn I haven't even read ANY of the Twilight books, but was sucked into getting a BD book anyway. And, while there, I finally gave in to picking up a copy of The Yiddish Policemen's Union. I've been looking at it ...

Well now I have to go and read Twilight. I haven't read any of the series yet. After reading this thread, I wish I could just go and buy the series, but unfortunately I don't have a car to drive and all my money is in the bank =

Finished up two more books this weekend, The Rum Diary and Stori Telling. A nice break from the Twilight series, although with the new one out, I'm sure it will be coming up sooner than later. Currently Reading: Jane Eyre and starting today Jack and Jill for my James Patterson ...

... in black saying "Bite Me" under it. I'll have to upload a picture of it. I'm sooo wearing it to the midnight release of Twilight!!

Finished Twilight. Hubby and his friend took to reading passages of Twilight out loud. Supposedly so I could hear how ridiculous it sounds. But all in all, it was a pretty good YA book. Not good enough where I am convinced I will read the whole series, but not bad. Hubby and his friend thought ...

... more realistic. Yes, I realize that I'm asking for realism from a book about wolves and vampires, but I felt the others, Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse, were. I'd love to hear from someone who really enjoyed it.

... hands on the Thursday Next book first? :) Forgot to say my kid sister's now a reader and is very excited about reading Twilight. She's old enough to join, but I think I'll see if she reads other books as well before suggesting she join a book site. I'm afriad to get my hopes up. ;)

... cut for fear of boring my readers - but I can't put my finger on why I'm not turning the pages as quickly as I did with Twilight and Eclipse (let's face it, New Moon was a whinefest that I'd rather not endure again). {{POSSIBLE SPOILER AHEAD, but I don't think it's anything most of ...

I just cannot bring myself to read that Twilight series. So many people rave about it, but my bookvoice screams "no, no no" so I am pretty sure it is not for me. ETA oh! and I am reading Open Channel today.

Have fun, Bib! I've been rereading Twilight in a leisurely fashion, debating whether I want to try and reread the other two before reading Breaking Dawn. I've also started Sebastian Darke: Prince of Fools, but got sidetracked.
