Book description
A fact-based historical novel following the lives of two 17th century aristocratic French sisters, "the ladies of La Louppe," both of whom made brilliant marriages to wealthy noblemen and were leaders of fashionable Parisian society.  Time Magazine called this novel, "a social and human document, richly textured with quotidian details of housekeeping, matchmaking, small-talk and general upper-class living."
