A bit slow to start and a bit confusing (some of the characters blend together and their relation to one another took me a few minutes to figure out), but I'll probably continue this so I can actually get to the action. ( )

I liked it a lot and comparing it with the movie, I think hardly anything deviated from the book. ( )

I read this book because Amazon started a new program for Prime members called Amazon Read. It allows you to borrow from a selection of Kindle titles. Knowing that "Graphic Novel" was on the reading list, I picked one based on ratings and reviews. Here's a summary of "Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life" (in color!):

Scott Pilgrim is a "23-year-old Canadian slacker" (Wikipedia gets it right from time to time) who lives with a gay guy (necessary these days, I guess) has no apparent direction in life and is dating a high school girl named Knives, but then Scott falls for a girl who delivers packages for Amazon by traveling through space portals (Ramona Flowers), one of which runs through Scott's brain, causing him to dream about her repeatedly, after which he meets her at a party and falls for her, then invites her to his band's debut show, but he also invited his high school girlfriend, who he can't bear to break up with, so naturally at the show hijinks erupt not only when both girls appear but also because Ramona's evil ex-boyfriend Matthew suddenly materializes at the concert (presumably also using a space portal), so Scott battles Matthew and the "demon hipster chicks" Matthew summons using mystical powers, but Scott defeats them all then asks Ramona if she will date him, which she agrees to as long as Scott understands he needs to defeat all of her ex's, but of course he agrees, so Ramona's head glows. The end.

So predictable, right?

Fast, easy, free, stupid read. And, it was in color! ( )

Oh man, I love this series so much! I mean, I can't really think of too many things to say that haven't already been said, so let's just go with

READ IT! It's so much flippin' fun! Just do yourself a favor and read it as soon as you can!

This is my third time reading through the whole series. ( )

This is the purest expression of American manga out there today, because instead of concentrating on look or subject matter or style, it captures what makes manga so attractive: a creator telling a story that matters to him in a unique way, one where anything can happen but the focus is on emotion. Energy and ideas permeate the book along with an easy-going sense of humor.

Scott Pilgrim's life is fantastic. He's 23 years old, in a rock band, between jobs, and dating a cute high school girl. Everything's awesome until a seriously mind-blowing delivery girl named Ramona Flowers enters his life.
