Scott Pilgrim's life is fantastic. He's 23 years old, in a rock band, between jobs, and dating a cute high school girl. Everything's awesome until a seriously mind-blowing delivery girl named Ramona Flowers enters his life.

Book one of a series that will shortly have a game created after it. Scott was kinda unimpressive in the beginning of this volume with potential to redeem himself at the very end with a wicked plot twist. Maybe worth a venture into volume two. ( )

I enjoyed this first installment. But, this is one of the rare cases in which I'd rather watch the movie. ( )

Meh, this first book was okay. Didn't exactly blow my skirt up, but I'll stick with it and read the next one...

This comic is perfect. ( )

HilARious. Drawn in a sorta manga style, this first volume in a set of 6 describes Scott's pseudo-relationship with high school Knives Chau, and how he becomes obsessed with the mysterious American, Ramona Flowers. Oh, and her evil ex-boyfriends. I love how the characters continuously break the fourth wall and the integration of video game bits. ( )

This is the purest expression of American manga out there today, because instead of concentrating on look or subject matter or style, it captures what makes manga so attractive: a creator telling a story that matters to him in a unique way, one where anything can happen but the focus is on emotion. Energy and ideas permeate the book along with an easy-going sense of humor.
