Loading... The Battle of the Alamo (Graphic Library: Graphic History)by Matt Doeden
None. Summary: This graphic novel was about the history of the Battle of the Alamo. Personal Reaction: It was a fun way to explain the historic Battle of the Alamo to students. Classroom Extensions: #1: I would use this story to teach the Battle of the Alamo. #2: I would have the students do some research on the Alamo museum. This is a very grfic depiction that will surley educate children whom wish to learn the history of the Alamo. I am from Texas and enjoyed this book very much. This book is excellant but because of its nature should be view with an adult for explanations. I would definetly include this book in a library of history. no reviews | add a review

Personal Reaction: I thought this was a good summary of what happened at the Alamo. I am not a fan of graphic novels, but I can see why they would interest children.
Classroom Extension ideas:
1. I would have students choose a small portion of the story and write a description of the scene. I feel this would help strengthen their reading skills for traditional novels.
2. I would have students choose a character from the book to research further and either write a report or draw a graphic report about the characters life.
