This is a follow up of the King & King story. After the wedding, King and King go on their honeymoon to a jungle far, far away from their kingdom. In the jungle, King and King see many different types of animals. The animals all have their own families, and King and King soon yearn for a family of their own. When they return they are surprised with a young girl in their suitcase. They decide to adopt the young girl and they live happily ever after.

Not only does this book cover the important concept of sexual orientation, but it also covers important science concepts. This book introduces many types of animals and their offspring which students need to know.

Follow up volume to "King and King". In this book, Prince Bertie and Prince Lee go on vacation to the jungle and come back with a stowaway orphan girl in their bag whom they adopt.

Review from interlibrary loan copy.

Okay, it's a little creepy that a girl stows away in their suitcase and then they adopt her - seems a little more like kidnapping, even though they didn't know she was hidden. I realize that it's a way to talk about adoption by a gay couple, but this was just a weird context. ( )

I found the art and story of "King & King & Family" to be more exuberant than the first, "King & King" -- the little girl bursting out of the chest at the end is so full of life. It actually is by far my favorite of the "gay family / how we adopted our child" books. ( )
