The book is basically Smith's day-to-day life - some of it is extremely dull and very repetitive. However, I'm such a huge fan that it still holds my interest. ( )I wasn't really sure what to expect when I picked this up a couple of days ago; I just wanted something a little different since (as my loyal readership knows) I've been on a steady diet of speculative fiction for the past couple of months. The book is essentially a collection of entries from his blog over at viewaskew.com. As such, there's a lot of day to day living going on, presented in Smith's trademark "no filter" style. Not only do you hear about wht projects he's involved in, but you also hear about more personal details (how many times he takes a dump, sex with his wife, masturbation, etc.). If he did it, chances are you're going to read about it. It actually makes for an interesting and engaging reading experience. Smith is funny, smart and opinionated. His blog reflects that. He talks about his role in Catch and Release, making Clerks II and all his other professional endeavors. But the real highlight of the book talks about Jason Mewes' battle to kick a serious drug habit. It's told very simply and honestly, but I was almost in tears a couple of times. The book can be summed up very simply; if you like Smith and his films, you'll love the book. no reviews | add a review
