This book is an encouraging look at women loved in blessed by God dealing with the same struggles that most women fight in today's societies, as well. This book is a great book to read with a book club or small group. Each chapter looks at a powerful woman of the bible (Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel, etc) and creates for her a modern counterpart. Through these women, you look at their temptations and sins, but you also see God remaining steadfast to his promises towards them and continuing to shower them with love and grace. The writing is engaging and conversational, and each chapter ends with a succinctly tied up lesson to learn from the women you study. I think it is best read in chunks with a group, begins to seem a little long-winded on your own in extended sittings. Overall, I believe it is a great selection for your next group book study. ( )
