Pettersons debut fra 1987 viser allerede tegn på hans senere suverænitet. Sproget er levende på den helt særegne Petterson'ske måde, og der er også fra starten fokus på maskulinitet. Det er forholdet mellem fædre sønner, der interesserer ham. En fin lille bog med episoder fra den lille Arvids liv. ( )
