This was an interesting psychological thriller with paranormal overtones. I found the book very enjoyable but was a bit confused by the author's use of paranormal moments to effectively hamstring the building tension in several spots towards the end of the novel. ( )

This book is a great one, the whole time I read it, I kept trying to guess what would happen next. Its about a psychic detecive, Lucas. He is solving a murder case, where the kidnapper kidnaps his victims and kills them within a time limit, and flees away with his money. Lucas, or Luke, is a detective that sences peoples fears and fells what they feel. But what he doesnt know is that he is playing a very deadly game.

I got this paperback because it was mainly the only interesting one they were selling at the hospital I was at the moment. Needless to say, it isn't very good. ( )

This is a great story that really keeps you guessing right to the end!

It's the first in a trilogy about a team of psychic special agents.
The team is led by Lucas Jordan to hunt down a serial killer that seems to always be 2 steps ahead of them until Samantha Burke (a carnival fortune teller and former lover of Lucas) steps in to help. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0553585983, Mass Market Paperback)

There's a new psychic on the scene, and he's ready for action: introducing Lucas Jordan, the latest addition to Noah Bishop's crackerjack Special Crimes Unit.

Lucas Jordan has an extraordinary psychic skill that police all over the country find invaluable: he locates missing people. And since being recruited by Noah Bishop for his FBI Special Crimes Unit, Lucas has learned to hone his remarkable ability so that what he does seems little short of miraculous.

He's called in on what appear to be a series of ordinary kidnappings-for-ransom, but almost immediately Lucas realizes the situation is far from ordinary—and more deadly than anything he's ever faced before. Because a brilliant, twisted madman is out to win a sick game, matching his wits against the best hunter he can find: Lucas.
