Welsh trilogy:
1. Here Be Dragons (1183-1232)
2. Falls the Shadow (1231-1267)
3. The Reckoning (1271-1283)
I've enjoyed all these books, including The Sunne in Splendour. I think I only read 1 of her "medieval mystery" books, though (see The Quee ... ... not read any of the four I resolved to read (Sarum by Rutherfurd and three by Sharon Kay Penman: Here Be Dragons, The Reckoning, and Falls the Shadow). I read lots of other really long books, but not the ones I specifically said I'd read. In fact, I forgot all about this ... Starting a list to see how many books I do read in a year. Looks like I will read 50!
1.The Reckoning Sharon Penman 5/5
2.Falls the Shadow Sharon Penman 5/5
3.The Tenth Circle Jodi Picoult 3/5

and The Reckoning (587 pages)
all by Sharon Kay Penman
... to myself. I'm now reading the first ~ Here Be Dragons ~ which it turns out I hadn't already read. The others ~ The Reckoning and Falls the Shadow ~ I think I read before but intend to read again.
Just in case, Storeetllr, The Reckoning is the last book in the trilogy.
I loved Here be Dragons- one of my top reads for 2005! I didn't like Falls the Shadow quite as much, and the characters in The Reckoning seemed to me to be rehashes of the main characters in Here be Dragons. And ... ... to read a historical trilogy by Sharon Kay Penman: Here Be Dragons (700 pages); Falls the Shadow (575 pages); and The Reckoning (587 pages) (which I bought just today as a late Christmas present to myself)! Sweet!
I'm sure I'll find more really long tomes to read as the year goes ... ... area, I went into a used book store and found the historical fiction trilogy of Here Be Dragons, Falls the Shadow, and The Reckoning by Sharon Kay Penman which I bought for myself as a late Christmas present. ... book store today and bought myself a belated Christmas present ~ a trilogy of historical novels by Sharon Kay Penman: The Reckoning; Here Be Dragons; and Falls the Shadow. *sigh* Life is good! :)
