Work detailsGoodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (1947)
Good Night Moon is a classic story book. It goes through the ritual of telling things that you see good night. It's the perfect night time story and one that i hope my kid's can enjoy one day. A classic bedtime tale that keeps the reader entertained as we say goodnight to many different objects. Told through a rhyme so it's easy for kids to keep up and remember for future reads. Definitely a suggestion for students who have trouble sleeping. Both my daughters loved this book before they started school. Reading the words aloud together was as much fun for us as singing a beloved Christmas carol. And my girls never tired of pointing out the location of the little mouse which is located at a different place on each page. A short poem of goodnight wishes from a young rabbit preparing for--or attempting to postpone--his own slumber. This is a great humorous introduction to how preschoolers or early childhood students are supposed to sleep and get ready for bed. no reviews | add a review Is contained inThe 20th-Century Children's Book Treasury: Picture Books and Stories to Read Aloud by Janet Schulman HarperCollins Treasury of Picture Book Classics: A Child's First Collection by Katherine Brown Tegen The World Treasury of Children's Literature by Clifton Fadiman The World Treasury of Children's Literature : Book 1 by Clifton Fadiman The World Treasury of Children's Literature : Books 1 & 2 by Clifton Fadiman (indirect) Is parodied inGoodnight Goon: A Petrifying Parody by Michael Rex Goodnight Bush: A Parody by Gan Golan Goodnight iPad: a Parody for the next generation by Ann Droyd Has as a reference guide/companion
Amazon.com Amazon.com Review (ISBN 0694003611, Board book)Perhaps the perfect children's bedtime book, Goodnight Moon is a short poem of goodnight wishes from a young rabbit preparing for--or attempting to postpone--his own slumber. He says goodnight to every object in sight and within earshot, including the "quiet old lady whispering hush." Clement Hurd's illustrations are simple and effective, alternating between small ink drawings and wide, brightly colored views of the little rabbit's room.Finding all of the items mentioned throughout the book within the pictures is a good bedtime activity--a reappearing little mouse is particularly pesky. By the end of the little rabbit's goodnight poem, the story has quieted to a whisper, and the drawings have darkened with nightfall. As you turn the last page, you can expect a sleepy smile and at least a yawn or two. (Picture book) (retrieved from Amazon Thu, 14 Feb 2013 13:52:36 -0500) A little bunny bids goodnight to all the objects in his room before falling asleep. (summary from another edition) |
