Wow. More women in Peter Parker's life ... and that just means more BAD stuff. Poor guy. ( )

In Volume 8 of the Ultimate Spider-Man hardcover compilations, Kitty Pryde of the X-Men calls Peter Parker (who has broken up with Mary Jane over issues of her safety) and they begin a dating relationship. This leads Peter to be kidnapped along with her and the other X-Men at Krakoa Island, where mutants are hunted down and terminated on live television for sport. In another storyline, Spider-Man is tricked by dirty cop Jean De Wolfe into helping Kingpin (a development I really don't care for; I liked the honest Captain De Wolfe in the older Spider-Man stories). Daredevil later begind to enlist super-powered allies in his war against the Kingpin. Fine writing from Bendis, as usual, and a mostly good mixed bag of artwork. ( )

Spider-Man gets fired for disagreeing with JJJ when he backs the campaign of a DA who is a Kingpin shill.

Spidery and the Kingping butt heads several times, and he meets the Black Cat, daughter of a guy Kingpin has shafted, as she steals something he was going to use to try and help his sick wife.

Elektra gets in on the fun as the Kingpin hires her to get rid of the Cat.

The Enforcers show they are losers yet again.
