I first saw mention of this book in a catalog that I was only half-heartedly flipping through. Something about it just kind of caught my eye, and in reading the promotional description, I knew it was one of those books I needed to get my hands on as soon as possible. "The Three 'Only' Things" is a book about paying attention to that exact kind of thing, to noting what seems to jump out at you and to acting on your instincts. This is a book reminding us of the wisdom available when we pay attention to our dreams, coincidences and imagination, things we are often all too ready to dismiss as "only" nonsense. It really doesn't matter if you think these are messages from some divine source, or at best signals from our own consciousness. There is a rhyme to life and there is a lot to be learned just by being aware of the rhythms around us. Whether you're a skeptic or someone already working with these "only" things, this book is filled with opportunities to stretch your mind and motivate yourself toward making the most of what you have available as well as what you could have if you only knew how to reach for it. This really is a book about playing a better game. ( )
