I do love the buffy comics though, as i do all things Buffy (i am a Buffanatic) and others might not buy into my obsession. If you're not obsessed but are interested this would be a good intro. Not as big a fan of this omnibus but that's likely because it is far less tied to the mythology, voice, and tone of the series than the first two collections. Both the art and the writing are a little subpar. I understand the reasoning for it. While this is the third omnibus, it is the first collection focused on the early issues of the series. The comic book wasn't very interconnected with the series at the time and had very little access to the writers (and the top artists) of the time. I expect it will get better with later collections. I liked this volume more than the first couple of these I have looked at. An anthology of stories taken from the comics over about a 9-10 year period, according to the inside page. There's a kid car toon style first story, but the best work is probably Ryan Sook's. In these stories you get a distinctly more Mike Mignolaesque horror type vibe going on stylistically. There are a couple of stories done with your more standard, more realistic looking art, too, and both Gile's niece and Kendra make an appearance in a fun tale. http://graphicsf.blogspot.com/2008/06... I have seen omnibus one, but not omnibus two. This volume is certainly a lot more like it than the first, with the Sunnydale High School setting, and madcap vampire and demon slayiing. Demon sumber parties, ice elementals in ice-cream type shops, trashy demon freckly redheads, and more of that sort of thing, and plenty of bad puns to be had, too. Escaped weredoggies, superntural movie traps, ensorcelled collectables, all the sort of zany things you want to see. http://graphicsf.blogspot.com/2008/05... no reviews | add a review
