The second volume of Frank Miller's planned three-volume sequel to his classic Batman graphic novel, "The Dark Knight Returns". Perhaps he should have planned a fourth volume, because this book is slightly flawed by going in too many directions and resurrecting so many nostalgic forgotten superheroes that even a veteran like myself can get lost. But basically, Batman is planning his final war against the dark forces that have taken control of the planet over the years, while Superman, with his lover Wonder Woman, makes a final "stand" against Luthor and Braniac, agreeing to let himself be killed so they won't execute the people of Kandor, Krypton's last surviving city, shrunk to microscopic size. Some great stuff here, but too many directions are trod down. no reviews | add a review

While distracting Luthor, he continues to bring back and recruit those heroes he can, but knows the most powerful continue to oppose him.
A very potent wild card is Lara, a young supergirl.
