This is a very interesting cookbook. The author, the foundress of Pepperidge Farm, tells the story of her life, capping each section with various recipes. It's a very interesting book. ( )

Section on antique cookbooks with excerpts from De Honesta Voluptate by Platina, printed in 1475 and The Ladies Cabinet, Containing Many Rare Secrets, by Lord Ruthven, published in 1658. Also contains modernized recipes from antique cookbooks. Friend and cookbook author June Platt helped Mrs. Rudkin test the modernized recipes.
